Greetings all and welcome to our new website. This is now the third major installment of a website to support our community. If you were a registered user on the old website, you will need to register for a new account on this website.
So what was wrong with the old website, sinse we felt it was time for an update? First of all, the old website was moved from one server platform to another. This meant a new versions of the backend software. Much of the previsously working functionality stopped working after this move, and although we did manage to get the core functions to work, others were still not working.
We needed an upgrade - also because we all use the web differently than we did a few years ago. This new website has been long underway - and we are looking forward to seeing you all use this website on a daily basis.
The old website was built on technology, that for the large part is no longer supported. The new one is build on a solid and well supported Open Source platform, and this is some of what we will be able to offer on this new and improved platform.
- An integrated Forum with many new features, amongst these, the ability to subscribe to an RSS-feed for all- or individual boards.
- An event calendar, where we will be able to post invitations to events, for which members can sign up.
- An integrated Image Gallery, where we can share all of those awesome screenshots
- A quickchat on the frontpage, that will allow os to instantly (and in real time) send short messages to other users currently logged on to the website.
- An open-ended database, that we can configure to whatever we want
- An integrated polling-engine, where we can post polls as a part of a message in the forum as well as a polling-engine we can use on the community website itself.
There will be many other features added in the months ahead, but these are some of the featires that we will begin with.
